🌑 Sitting With Your Shadows
Embracing Your Hidden Self, Understanding Your Emotions & Finding Healing Within
As November unfolds and the darker evenings settle around us, nature encourages us to turn inward.
This week at My Healing Harmony, our theme is Sitting With Your Shadows — an invitation to acknowledge our hidden emotions, fears and insecurities with compassion rather than judgement.
Sometimes, the parts of ourselves we try hardest to hide are the ones most in need of our understanding.
🌙 The Spiritual Meaning of Sitting With Your Shadows
Our shadow represents the parts of ourselves we've learned to suppress, ignore or reject.
These might include fears, insecurities, anger, sadness or old emotional wounds.
Shadow work encourages us to recognise these feelings rather than push them away. By approaching our emotions with curiosity, we can begin to understand ourselves more deeply.
We cannot fully embrace our light without acknowledging our shadows.
🌑 Shadow Work & Self-Discovery
Have you ever wondered why certain situations trigger strong emotions or why familiar patterns keep appearing in your life?
Sometimes, these reactions are connected to past experiences or beliefs we've developed over time.
Sitting with our shadows allows us to explore these patterns without criticism.
It's not about fixing ourselves or forcing uncomfortable memories to resurface. It's about creating space for understanding, acceptance and personal growth.
Healing can begin when we stop fighting our emotions and start listening to them.

🕯️ A Simple Shadow Work Ritual
Find a quiet space, light a candle and choose a crystal that resonates with you.
Take a few gentle breaths and allow yourself to become present.
Ask yourself:
What emotions have I been avoiding?
What situations trigger uncomfortable feelings?
What might these emotions be trying to tell me?
How can I show myself greater compassion?
Spend a few moments journaling without judgement. If anything feels overwhelming, allow yourself to pause.
Close with this affirmation:
"I honour both my light and my shadows. I embrace every part of myself with compassion, understanding and love."
🌙 This Week's Message
Sitting with your shadows isn't about becoming someone different. It's about learning to accept who you already are.
You don't need to understand every emotion.
You don't need to heal everything at once.
And you don't need to rush your journey.
Sometimes, simply acknowledging how we feel is enough.
Because true self-acceptance begins when we learn to embrace every part of ourselves, even the parts we find difficult to love.
